OA firmware 3.60 does not recognize certain PSU models
After having upgraded our client's OA from 3.56 to 3.60, the OA now reports that a PSU in bay 6 is not of the correct type and reports the following:
"Device Mismatch - Mixing different power supply models is not supported. All power supplies in the enclosure must be the same part number. Please replace this power supply with the proper part number."
The SHOW ALL log indicates:
"6 Error Device Mismatch All power supplies in the
enclosure must be the same part
number. Please replace this
power supply with the proper
part number. "
The part number of the PSU is 500172-B21 with spare 498152-001. This PSU was replaced after a previous one failed last year and with the previous firmware was regularly installed and no warning ever issued. The device is listed as supported and was shipped by HP support as usual.
We suspect the problem to be a bug/missout in the new 3.60 firmware supported part no. DB: the part number is not listed or incorrectly recognized.
The PSU is still reported operational but with status Degraded. For the moment we will leave the firmware as it is and not downgrade back to 3.56 as hp support has told us a new firmware update should be on it's way shortly.

Re: OA firmware 3.60 does not recognize certain PSU models
Hi,
I see lot of enhancement and fixes in OA firmware release 3.60 so downgrade is not a good option.
Try Resetting the OA and check
Rebooting via GUI : Active HP Onboard Administrator > Virtual Buttons > Reset
Rebooting via the CLI - RESTART OA
hope this helps,
