Re: Expanding EVA6000
The thing you will to add though will be backend fibre switches.

Re: Expanding EVA6000
When you say 2 switches... do you mean SAN Switches? Where the EVA Controllers and servers connect to?
Do your disk shelves connect to each other in a loop fashion? or are they connect to backend loop switches? (They sit right below or above the controllers)

Re: Expanding EVA6000
the controllers that the disk enclosures
connect to as well as the controllers.
Are these not capable of running 4 additional drive enclosures?

SolutionIf you did not have those switches, it would have just been an added expense to take into consideration.
Some EVA6000 configurations do not include the switches, yours apparently did.

Re: Expanding EVA6000
the existence of loop switches turns an EVA4000/4100 into an EVA6000/6100. And this is what (should) make the difference for CV-EVA.

Re: Expanding EVA6000
please have on mind that you MUST order order correct disk shelfs. Difference between eva6000's a eva6100's enclosures is only in ONE (A or B) letter and if you connect newer one for eva6100 to your eva6000 it ends in whole array failure!
Experienced in January 2009 during our upgrade and HP error during order... :(
I do not want anybody here to see whole EVA blinking on RED with all your data... :(
After disconecting incorrect enclosures EVA went back to online (after several reboots)... no fun.
