Lun number problem for MPIO

If I set up some vDisks in MSA2012FC with LUN number, and then present them to Fibre host (w/ WWN).

Now, I decide to configure Mult-Path I/O (OS installed w/ MPIO), the server w/ 2 independent PCI-E fibre HBA. Should be configure the same LUN number for the same vDisk these 2 HBA to the same server?

I dont think it makes a difference whether the LUNs are the same or not, but it would be better practice to use the same LUN to make it easier for an administrator to associate them.

If you specify your operating system and multipath software would be helpful. Some opearting systems base their devices on the WWID of the LUN.

Anyway, having the same LUN ID would help to recognize multipla paths to the same disks on some operating systems.
