P2000 G3 and HDD compatibility

Hello, I would like to know if the P2000 firmware is hardcoded to support only certain drives.

The goal is to test the P2000 G3 SFF with SSD drives, but unfortunately it seems that SSDs are only supported on EVAs, if i am not wrong.

Do you think HP will someday add support for SSD drives for the P2000 ?

I think SSD drives are supported by P2000 G3 FC/iSCSI array.

I am trying to get some supported documents for this.

I work for HPE
Accept or Kudo

The quickspecs don't list SSD's at all.

Best to call HP and ask, support may be on it's way.

Re: P2000 G3 and HDD compatibility

Hi,

Just to let you know the P2000 works with SSD's with the current firmware. I use Cruical M4 SSD in my personal P2000 8G FC Combo SFF at home. I only have a single port QLE2560 hba in my desktop at home so I only get about 750MB/sec but im sure with a dual port I could get more.

I dont believe the P2000 officaly supports SSD tho, so you probably wont get any support from HP for them.

which is sort of strange really because the OEM version of this product, from Dot Hill fully supports SSD !!

Re: P2000 G3 and HDD compatibility

Hi,

Latest TS240P003 do not support SSD drives.

May future release may add support for SSD drives.

D2700 support SSD drives,HP only needs to add supporabilty to MSA by modfiying firmware

We may need to patiently wait for next release

Re: P2000 G3 and HDD compatibility

Hello,

as said before, P2000 G3 does not support SSD oficially. Of course it could work without HP support.
