which San Switch 2/32 code to use ?

Was wondering.....

I see there are 2 flavors of San Switch 2/32 firmware to pick from .. ( V4.4.0f or V5.1.0b ).. How do I decide which is proper to use ? Both of our San Switch 2/32 units here are currently at V4.4.0c...

Just now I've noticed, it was asked by you. If you didn't find needed info at hp pages, go directly to http://www.brocade.com/index.jsp and try to look there. All fw can be found at Brocade Connect. You have to setup an account to login.

Yes... I just caught my own question entered before in October... OH well, !!! I have also found a full set of per-version release notes at the Brocade site...

Re: which San Switch 2/32 code to use ?

in general, I would go with the latest firmware, to avoid the eventual retirement of the older firmware, forcing another upgrade sooner (as long as the firmware isn't TOO new).

you also need to look at the total environment - 5.0.1b is not supported with Solaris 10 hosts to EVA/XP yet. (support for Tru64 and OpenVMS should be now - but I haven't looked to see if it has completed certification testing)
