windows 2008 eva snapshot access

Hello,
I must be missing something:
I created a snapshot of a VM on a EVA 4400, presented it tho a windows 2008 R2 server. The disk appears but tays "offline to administrator policy"
how can i access this volume for backup?
EVA4400, cluster hyperV....
