multisite VSA cluster - how do I failover to the next site?

So far the only way I can initiate a failover to the VSA in site B is to shutdown the VSA in site A. Is there an easier way to failover in the multisite cluster?

Re: multisite VSA cluster - how do I failover to the next site?

are you talking about a syncronous multi-site cluster?  if so, that is all handled though MPIO so the only way to manually change what VSAs you are connected to would be to change the site assignment of the servers you want to move and then let it re-ballance.

If these are async remote snapshots you want to failover to, that is done by right clicking on the voume in question and selecting failover/failback...  but you have to be logged into both management groups in order to have this process automated.

I'm not sure if the same feature is enabled when you are doing async replication in the same management group, but if you are doing that, you should stop and split it into two management groups anyway for a number of reasons as brought up in other threads.
