IP/MAC Learning and Device Panel on 5400 series
I'm testing the new IMC 5.2, and I'm having some difficulties. The 5400's (A mix of 5412 and 5406) show nothing in the IP/MAC Learning view, stating 'no match found', even if I wildcard with a *. This is also the case on the 2910s I have setup. Everything else looks good, sflow works, snmp traps are sent, etc. I'm using snmp v2. The 5400s are running a mix of 15.07 and 15.09 firmwares.
Also, if I go to the device panel for any of the 5400s, its the correct image, but basically a blank canvas. It shows no ports, lights, etc. Just the 5400 chasis picture. In comparison, if I go to a 2910 device panel, I am shown all the ports, their statuses, etc.
Any thoughts? Am I missing something here? I attached some screengrabs.

Re: IP/MAC Learning and Device Panel on 5400 series
Are you sure SNMP queries are working? That's where the data is coming from.
Go to System --> Resource Management --> MIB Management
Click the button in the toolbar that says "Operate the inputted OID" (at the end of the toolbar)
Select your device and use the OID: 1.3.6.1.2.1.1 and choose "GetNext".
If you get valid data, then SNMP is working. If not, you will need to fix your SNMP information for the device.
I hope this helps.

Yep, I get a valid response:
***** SNMP GET NEXT REQUEST STARTED *****

Re: IP/MAC Learning and Device Panel on 5400 series
Very strange. Hmm...
If you go to the resources page of the device, does it show you full SNMP data? Like the sysoid, the system description, type, etc?
Well, now that I think about it, it must, or it wouldn't know which device panel to choose. I'm wondering if your SNMP configs are limiting the scope. I'm not an expert in Provision, so I can't be sure.
What does your SNMP config show in your switch? Can you sanatize it for viewing, and post it?

I believe this is what you are looking for:

Re: IP/MAC Learning and Device Panel on 5400 series
I've also tried the config with traps set prior to adding informs.

Re: IP/MAC Learning and Device Panel on 5400 series
Without doing a packet capture, I'm not sure how iMC is getting the MAC Address info. However, the ipNetToMediaTable has the information.
If you use the MIB Management page to get to the "Operated the Inputted OID" tool again, use:
SNMPWALK 1.3.6.1.2.1.4.22
Do you get a list of data?

Re: IP/MAC Learning and Device Panel on 5400 series
I had to remove the snmpwalk portion, and just run the oid 1.3.6.1.2.1.4.22.
Result with Next = 'unknown error'
Result with Getnext =
***** SNMP GET NEXT REQUEST STARTED *****

Re: IP/MAC Learning and Device Panel on 5400 series
Could it be some type of MIB issue? Under the 5412 network assets it only shows the chasis, and none of the Module cards.

Re: IP/MAC Learning and Device Panel on 5400 series
Hi,
Just update on the ip/mac, the online manual states:
By default, the real-time location function is available only on H3C devices. To support third-party devices, enable Enable Realtime Location Extension in the system parameter settings. Enabling real-time location extension requires high performance on the Layer 2 topology network. Perform this operation with caution.
I do not know the exact impact of this parameters or how it actually works however, but you can give it a try !
Hope this helps,Peter.
