64bit Ignite recovery tape -> 32bit machine??

I think I already know the answer to this question, but I'm hoping I'm wrong.

I have an ignite-UX recovery tape created on an L-class machine running 64bit HPUX. I would like to use this tape to restore the OS on a K class (32 bit) machine.

Is this possible??

Thanks in advance,
Tim

I would advise against it for a few reasons. First the server's are different models, so your device files are different. If you had a 64 bit K class, then It would be appropriate, but I wouldn't take the chance. I would go for a fresh re-install on the K server, you would be better off.

All the libraries from your L class are 64 bit, not to mention a fair few binaries, there is no way they will work on a 32bit machine. You cannot use your ignite tape.
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

Thanks. I was afraid this was the answer, just hoping I was wrong!
