IGNITE make_tape_recovery pax 8Gb > not dumped

Hi,

I have seen a > 2Gb limit but not 8Gb. Is there a patch for this?

Hi,

It seems you are backing up non root VGs using ignite. It will really be of no use infact. It will delay the backup and restore and will of no use if the file being backed up is in use. Normally only databases has such large files and there is no point in backing up the files when the database is running or file is in use otherwise. In that scenario I would recommend to only use ignite to backup only vg00 and other application tools to back up other data.

Hi David:

There is a patch for 'pax' that enables the archival of files up to 8GB. For 11.11 use PHCO_32438.

Thank you for the responses, I needed to confirm we could not go above 8Gb to justify removing non-root volume group that have historically been added into the ignite backup.
