Hi,
we recently upgraded our EVAs (4400 & 6400) to XCS 11001100 and therefore also needed to upgrade Command View to 10.2 and Insight Remote Support 7.0.5.
We added the EVAs to IRS as described in the Monitored Devices Configuration Guide and they seem to show up correctly:
IRS however doesn't seem to receive any Service Events from Command View. When using the "Perform remote service test" in Command View, nothing is received from IRS (though the generated event does show up in the Windows Application Event Log i.e.).
ELMC 6.4 seems to be running:
The service "HP StorageWorks CIM Object Manager" is also running.
Might there be anything else that we are missing?
Thanks
Michael

SolutionHow about the CV Server?
Also "green" in Warranty & Contract tab?
I observed a non eligible server will not transfer any message from the EVA.
You can find a workaround at page 122 in
HP Insight Remote Support
Software Version:7.0.5
Monitored Devices Configuration Guide
Document Release Date: September 2012
This could be a better forum for such question next time:

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: EVA 4400 & 6400 not reporting to Insight Remote Support 7.0.5
Thanks Torsten,
that did the trick. Actually the server is not in warranty anymore, but overriding the serial and product number with a SN for a product that is still in warranty got it working:
Hopefully this will be fixed in a future version or at least be written down in the documentation.
Thanks again, this really helped us.
Regards
Michael

Re: EVA 4400 & 6400 not reporting to Insight Remote Support 7.0.5
Now you created a second system (which is probably totally different) with the same serial no. - this will confuse you and the support folks later.
It's simple:
open
C:/ProgramData/HP/RS/CONFIG/WEBES/DESTA.REG
with notepad and add
EvtMonitor.StartWatcher.<hostname>=t
with the CV servername. Restart Insight RS related services and it will work.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: EVA 4400 & 6400 not reporting to Insight Remote Support 7.0.5
Thanks, I found it on page 119 instead of 122. This worked as well. I must have missed this while reading the document for the first time.
Regards
Michael
