Booting Itanium Machine
How to Interrupt the Boot Procees and Choose EFI Shell. I tried to reboot the machine and press space bar to halt. Instead of going to EFI shell , I see a HP-UX command Prompt.
I wanted to boot the mahine from DVD-ROM/CD-ROM
Thanks,
J

Re: Booting Itanium Machine
if not working you can always press ctl B
and then cm (command menu) and from there reset the power by "rs"
And you can choose EFI shell from there.
Hope this help.
BR,
Kapil

Re: Booting Itanium Machine
Depending on the settings a counter will be startet prior to boot from the primary boot path.
At this point I usually press an arrow key to stop there.
If the system is launching the hpux loader there is another timer prior to load the kernel.
Another chance to stop there.
If the timers are set to zero, you can try to remove the boot disks - this will bring you into the efi shell.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
