I have this error on my rx6600 server. I replaced a fan that was showing an amber light but it didn't help.
Attached are sysrev command output and MP logs.
Kindly assist me.

Re: COOLING_UNIT_FAILURE on rx6600
I think this can also be caused by a defective sensor. Have you contacted HP ? They should qualify the problem and decide which parts should eventually be replaced.
Your system and BMC firmware is slightly below the latest revision. Maybe you will be advised to update.

Re: COOLING_UNIT_FAILURE on rx6600
This system has redundant cooling fans. If you are into it, replacement of the fan itself is no harder than a CPU fan on a regular PC.
Either that or call HP hardware service.
But one fan down on this system is not a crisis. Just don't let it turn into two fans.

Re: COOLING_UNIT_FAILURE on rx6600
Yes I have contacted HP and I'm waiting for a response from them. I had noted that the firmware could be an issue here but my colleague thinks otherwise. Thanks.
Steven,
I replaced one fan. My colleague still holds that there could be a multiple fan failure. Thanks too.
Also, I observed that all the fans were spinning very fast for a few moments then they would slow down and the process would repeat itself over and over, thus filling the logs with these errors.

Re: COOLING_UNIT_FAILURE on rx6600
the short periods of high fan speeds may point to an intermittent fan failure as well as a sensor problem.
I would see the multiple fan failure as a least likely possibility, since the system is designed with N+1 redundancy. I think two fan failures for longer perionds would have initiated a system shutdown.
Anyway, HP hardware support is the best place to contact in this situation.

Jozef

Re: COOLING_UNIT_FAILURE on rx6600
HP told me the problem could be faulty I/O backplane.
I will replace that and let you know how that goes.
Thanmks,
