How to restart the system into nPar mode

Hi,

Whe have a problem with iCAP and rx servers and I have to restart the system into nPar mode and run 'icapmodify -s' to change the Intended Active count.

The note saids: "For iCAP 8.01, the Intended Active count for the nPar (number of "Intended Active Cores" in

the above output) is an upper limit for the vPars, and it cannot be changed while in vPars mode.

You must restart the system into nPar mode and run 'icapmodify -s' to change the Intended Active count.

Then restart the system back into vPar mode and use the vparmodify command to activate the cores.

How can I do it? What have I do to restart and run this command in nPar?

Is it a HP9000 or Integrity server?

Command "model" will tell.

From any running vPar use

vparenv -m nPars

to switch the mode. Once booted in nPar mode, use

vparenv -m vPars

to switch back.



*OR**

from EFI:

fsN:\> efi\hpux\vparconfig reboot nPars|vPars

and reboot.


**OR**

from MON> prompt:

MON> reboot nPars
