New Hard drive

In addition to my question below ...

When purchasing a new hard disk from a third party, where would one get the "tray" for the hard drive? I assume the filler is just garbage?

Thanks!

Re: New Hard drive

Yes, the filler is garbage.

You would need to find the spare part number for the tray and order it direct from HP (or find some on Ebay).

I do not think they sell the tray as a standard purchasable product (anymore).

Re: New Hard drive

Of course asking the third-party if they have trays might be one way to see if they've ever actually tested their drive(s) with the Integrity servers :) Not a perfect test mind you - they could have used an external enclosure - but it would be interesting to ask them nonetheless.

Re: New Hard drive

If I order directly from HP, does it come with the tray?

Thanks!

Re: New Hard drive

If you order the exact HP partnumber then it comes with a tray.

Re: New Hard drive

I'd expect the Windows would just re-discover the drive(s)/library and your backup software wold just continue along without issues or perhaps only minor config changes in your backup device config.
