I want to upgrade the firmware of a cell board in rx6620 server from ver 4.2 to ver 5.1 using Windows ftp server.
1- which properties or settings , permissions should be applied on such server.
2- when executing "fw" what shouls i specify to the following questions :
2.1- user name / password
2.2- path where the FW can be found
ie the format of the answer should
be for example c:\dist\ver5.1
Thanks and Regards
Roger

Re: cell board upgrade
it's not clear.
The is no rx6620 server, but a rx6600.
Tell again what you have.
This server has no cells.
Most firmware of this server is provided by hp-ux patch, EFI executable or ISO image, but not FTP based.
Please run from MP:
MP:CM> sysrev
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

SolutionIf you have doubts, ask here or better call HP support.
Doing something wrong might kill your server!
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: cell board upgrade
User is anonymous, password is default, patch is absolute (from FTP server point of view).
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: cell board upgrade
On another server UNIX server that can be used download and extract the firmware for this 7620 server.
Then From the MP of the server 7620 make sure that the other server is reachable.
You can use PING from the MP>CM>XD command to check if the other server is reachable from this 7620.
If yes then from the MP of 7620 run the FW command and give the location(path) wherein the Firmware has been unzipped and the username and password for a user on the other UNIX server.
Regards
Sujit
