Tools to measure IO performance

I am looking for a tool to perform IO benchmarks. I would like the tool to perform multithreaded reads, writes, and random io all in volume to get a real good understanding the the different characteristics of different disk sub-systems / arrays when all else remains constant.

If you have GlancePak this will do measurement for you. This is a cost product.

Other option is sar. This is an included utility with the OS and is available right away.

iozone worked for me (www.iozone.org)

If you've a friendly HP/Veritas person.. you can also use "vxbench" --- works on both LVM/Non-LVM/RAW volumes and Filesystems (VxFS/JFS).
