Recently I got next problem: after connecting EMC Clariion to HP RP4400 and creating volume group on external array, boot time increased incredibly - from 15 minutes to 40. There is no fiber switches, just direct connection, and vg looks healthy. There is part of boot console log:
/sbin/krs_sysinit:
Starting EMC PowerPath.
/sbin/bcheckrc:
Checking for LVM volume groups and Activating (if any exist)
Volume group "/dev/vg00" has been successfully changed.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
There is 30 minutes gap
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Activated volume group
Volume group "/dev/vg02" has been successfully changed.
Resynchronized volume group /dev/vg00
vxfs fsck: sanity check: root file system OK (mounted read/write)
Resynchronized volume group /dev/vg02
Checking hfs file systems
/sbin/fsclean: /dev/vg00/lvol1 (mounted) ok
HFS file systems are OK, not running fsck
Checking vxfs file systems
/dev/vg00/lvol8 :
vxfs fsck: sanity check: /dev/vg00/lvol8 OK
/dev/vg00/scoptlvol :
vxfs fsck: sanity check: /dev/vg00/scoptlvol OK
/dev/vg00/scvarlvol :
vxfs fsck: sanity check: /dev/vg00/scvarlvol OK
/dev/vg00/scetclvol :
vxfs fsck: sanity check: /dev/vg00/scetclvol OK
/dev/vg00/lvol3 :
vxfs fsck: sanity check: root file system OK (mounted read/write)
/dev/vg00/lvol4 :
vxfs fsck: sanity check: /dev/vg00/lvol4 OK
/dev/vg00/lvol5 :
vxfs fsck: sanity check: /dev/vg00/lvol5 OK
/dev/vg00/lvol6 :
vxfs fsck: sanity check: /dev/vg00/lvol6 OK
/dev/vg00/lvol7 :
vxfs fsck: sanity check: /dev/vg00/lvol7 OK
I'm really don't have any idea what I can do to find out a cause.

SolutionAnyway you need to check with EMC for this , you can refer the support matrix at the following site:
http://www.emc.com/products/interoperability/index.htm
However the details regarding the driver and additional patches should be provided by EMC.
You can check the current patch level of FC related patches and check the driver for FC card you are using on the system.

Re: Very long check and activation
Yes, I tried to boot without EMC connection - it was much faster. I'll going to arrange EMC support to find out cause of problem.
Thanks
