recovery of /etc/passwd file

recovery of /etc/passwd file

Hi Experts,

In one of my server(rx2660),the /etc/passwd file got corrupted.I also do not have its backup copy in server as well as in any other backup media.This file is very important for my environmet as all users entry for SAP application are there.I need /etc/passwd file with those users entry.How can i recover /etc/passwd file in this scenario?

You should always consider backing up data on your server. This is one of the
most important thing to do. In case some files in your system gets deleted or
corrupted then you can always fall back to the backed up data to recover the
files.

If you have not started backing up data on your server, its time to do so now.
