Build Management Appliance
Can we build the SMA III appliance usng the quick restore CD that comes with it. We have not ordered the management appliance alongwith the EVA 3000 and want to know if the quick restore CD can be used for any proliant Server.

Re: Build Management Appliance
Hello Sunil,
even if it worked, according to the end-user license agreement (EULA) you are not allowed to do that.
If you have ordered a copy of OVSOM V1.2:
http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/storage/software/som/index.html
... then you can run a copy of CV-EVA on your ProLiant server, provided it has a supported copy of Windows (server 2003 EE - 32 bit).
If you don't even have OVSOM, well, you can leave your EVA unopened, because you cannot manage it anyway.

Re: Build Management Appliance
Yes, provided that the server has a fibre channel adapter with firmware and device driver from the support matrix (it's in the specifications), because the EVA is managed Fibre Channel in-band.
