Can't see all disks in MSA30 with MSA1500cs

I"m installing a new SAN with MSA 1500cs (Active/Passive) connected to 2 MSA 30 disk trays each with 8 HP 300GB Ultra320 SCSI disks. When I run ACU from any of the 4 HP DL380 servers (Windows Server 2003 R2 32-bit Standard Edition) connected via HP StorageWorks 4/8 Base SAN Switch to the MSA 1500, only 7 of the 8 drives in each tray are listed. The drives are in bays 1-8 so I should have SCSI IDs 0-5 & 8-9, but in both trays the disk in bay 4 (SCSI ID 3) is not shown. Does anyone have any idea what the problem is and how to fix it?
TIA

Are your MSA30s single or dual bus? If theyre dual bus you can only see 7 disks per channel
If you only put 1 disk in at slot 4 does it get seen OK? I'd start adding a disk at a time to see when it stops seeing SCSI ID 3 which could indicate a SCSI ID conflict
Or try populating the last 8 bays instead of the first 8 or even completely fill 2 of your trays to see what happens.
Then go from there

Re: Can't see all disks in MSA30 with MSA1500cs

I have resolved the problem. The MSA30 has an RJ45 connector on the back that I thought was for a network connection so I had connected it (on both MSA 30s) to an Ethernet switch using a Cat 5 cable. When I noticed that the label "LCD only" was next to it and removed the cable then cycled power to the MSA 30s and MSA1500cs the problem disappeared and I could now see all disks in the correct locations.
