Clustering hpux servers (rp3440 ) with MSA30 MI

Hello,

I really appreciate if someone could confirm how is the MSA30 MI connected with hpux servers because in my understand the product has 2 buses and with the 4 port I/O upgrade I will have 2 SCSI ports per SCSI bus . Am I right ?
If possible check my draw in the slides .
Thanks

Yes, your understanding is correct.

Each bus gives 2 scsi ports and 7 drives are connected on each bus.

The connections in the slides seems okay. First option takes way the SPOF of MSA box itself and provides redundacy and more disks to DB with a cost.

With either of them, clustering should be through.

Luis,

You must change the SCSI Id of one card to 6.
Otherwise you have a duplicate scsi Id in the chain.

This can be done with mptconfig /dev/mptx
