EVA 5000 & Brocade PID Format

Hello
If i change the pid format on my brocade switches with an EVA5000, i can't see the EVA anymore. If i change the pid back, it works as before.
Do i have to restart the EVA if i change the core pid format on the switch?

Did you reboot the switch? Is it possible that you are using some mix of WWN- and port-based zoning? I have found that this does not work when the 'Core PID addressing' format is enabled.

We have done a switch disable/configure/enable and only have port zoning

I am not sure 100%, but now that you mention it I think it is possible that pure port-based zoning won't work either.

Now we have done a fastboot afte changing
the pid format an it looks well.
I think you have to do a reboot after a pid change!!!!

Re: EVA 5000 & Brocade PID Format

That's true. You need to reboot the switch after a PID change. PID's should match on all switches in the fabric.

On the new 32 port 2Gbit switches the PID can't be changed, so if you're are intermixing these switches with older switches, you need to change the PID on the old ones to match the new ones.

Re: EVA 5000 & Brocade PID Format

FYI, Port Zoning is not supported with the EVA5000

Alain,
can you show a document that supports this claim?
