Re: HBA with two port connected to MSA1000
You can use a dual-port Fibre Channel adapter to connect to a dual-controller MSA, but:
- a single adapter port must only have access to one controller
and
- a single controller must no be accessed by more than one adapter port from the same server
This is usually accomplished by using two separate fabrics, but can also be achieved through proper zoning in the switch(es).
The operating system must also be able to deal with two data paths or equiped with additional multipath software.

Re: HBA with two port connected to MSA1000
If you are using Windows, you must use MPIO software for multipathing. There is also a new firmware for the MSA1000 to allow full multipath and lets you have an active/active controller.
Note: Boot from SAN is a bit different.
