MSA2000 disk enclosure (AJ750A) - Will it support 2TB SAS 7.2K drives?

I have a customer with a dual controller MSA2012i (AJ747A) that is currently full of (12) 1TB disks.
They are running out of space and need to add a disk enclosure to it.

I have found out that the correct enclosure to use is the dual I/O MSA2000 one (AJ750A) but they want to use 2TB SAS 7.2K drives and the quickspecs states that it doesnt support those drives.

Is it just slightly out of date?

Another option is to use an MSA60 on the back of the main unit, is this supported?

Has anyone done it already?

I have the same issue at work and was told by my reseller that 2TB drives are only supported by the MSA2012i G2. Thanks for the info about the AJ750A which I will now need for capacity upgrade.

AFAIK the AJ747A is the G1 and yes even the latest documentation http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/13330_emea/13330_emea.HTML updated Nov 2011 does not mention 2TB drives.

It's a pity that HP dont really have a clue themselves and push any questions to their resellers, who are relying on the same Googling we do to try and find out about specific products. Definitely wouldn't recommended HP StorageWorks SAN's if you need support...

This work never went ahead I'm afraid so I never got to find out if it worked or not.

I think it was maybe just that the Hp docs were out of date slightly and they were drafted before 2TB disks existed!

We do run the 2TB drives in our environment. We ran them with the 2012i controller, but have since upgraded to the 2312fc. Either way, it does in fact work.
