W2K3 upgrade from NT4

We currently have an MSA1000 (8x 72GB RAID5), with two 6 port HBA fibre switches, that is attached to a server running NT4.0. This weekend we're upgrading this server (Proliant DL360) to W2K3. Need to ask a couple of questions:
Current firmware version on HBA's 101G06 - is this compatable with W2K3?
Can anyone give me any tips prior to the upgrade? It's been suggested that we install W2K3 straight over this NT4.0 server, but I'm not sure of the end result, i'd prefer a clean build. Is SPM 3.1 bld 029 compatable with W2K3? Any help greatly appreciated.
