Weird connection problem with MSA1000
We have two NetWare 6.5 servers connected redundantly to an MSA1000 through a pair of MSA SAN Switch 2/8 units. These servers are using Secure Path for NetWare 3.0c and are using Q-Logic HBA's (FCA2214's). The MSA1000 is at version 4.32, EMU 1.86 and the switches are at Fabric OS version 3.1.0. The MSA30 DB has an EMU version 2.14. The MSA1000 has SSP enabled.
Recently, the MSA1000 was attached to an MSA30 DB for storage expansion, but only recognized one bus. We rebooted the MSA1000, which then recognized both busses of the MSA30. However, both NetWare servers didn't see any of the logical units on the MSA1000 (the MSA30 doesn't have any configured logical units, yet). We noticed that if the servers are connected to just one of the switches (the active one), then the logical units are visible; however, if the servers are connected to both switches, which is necessary for fail-over, then the logical units are not visible.
