DECDNP.SYS Crashes Windows 2003 at boot time after install of PW32 7.3
After installing Pathworks 32 7.3 (Sept 2003 version) onto Windows 2003 with HIS2000, I get blue screen and these messages
STOP: 0x0000007e (0xc0000005, .....)
decdnp.sys - Address F69FE30A BASE AT .....
Anyone else seen this problem and have any ideas?
Is Pathworks 32 7.3 okay for use with Windows 2003?
Is the upcoming 7.4 version needed for Windows 2003?
Would a 7.2 or earlier version be better to use?
Thanks,
Rob

Re: DECDNP.SYS Crashes Windows 2003 at boot time after install of PW32 7.3
In the SPD http://h18000.www1.hp.com/info/SP5633/SP5633PF.PDF the Windows 2003 OS is NOT mentioned, so I would assume, it is not supported.

Re: DECDNP.SYS Crashes Windows 2003 at boot time after install of PW32 7.3
My idea is that Pathworks uses internal Windows interfaces. Windows2003 should be consideerd a partial overhaul of Windows2000 and there seem to be much more applications (even Microsoft's own!) that do no longer work under Windows2003, due to these 'enhancements' (meant to increase security). I bet PW is one of them. I don't think 7.2 would help, for the same reason.
A "better" solutio woul be to revert to Windows2000.

Quotes from that forum (Paul Nunez, Jul 26, 2003 15:47:51 GMT):
Quote: "With that said, PATHWORKS32 v7.3 does NOT support Windows 2003 (but, again, PATHWORKS32 is not required unless you want the Windows system to have DECnet, LAT, etc.). Last I heard, PATHWORKS32 product management had decided to qualify PATHWORKS32 on Windows 2003 Server but if/when at will happen is unknown to me."
Quote: "Also, since Windows 2003 is unsupported at this time, ... "
Thanks Paul.
I did want (and would like) the Windows system to have DECnet.
Maybe it will be supported in the future Pathworks 32 v7.4?
Regards,
Rob
