Ftp failed

Hi all,

I have a question about APA. After I installed APA in my server, I try to disable them. The port on the switch is set to 100Full Duplex / Fixed / no autoneg. Then I found that the network was fine except ftp doesn't work. The error said

421 Service not available, remote server has closed connection

and the syslog shows

Did you encounter it?

Re: Ftp failed

Looks like your server1 and server3 might be trying to connect to server2 using IPv6 protocol instead of the "normal" IPv4.
Should they do that? Does FTP work if you use IPv4 only?

How to check and change to IPv4?

Re: Ftp failed

Is there some kind of firewall between the 2 systems ?

It appears that the inbound command connection works, but the outbound data connection fails to reach the client system (server3).

Try passive mode with ftp on the client.

If I understand that you have disabled APA, It's possible that the switch is still trying to use multiple ports, and is passing the inbound data to an unused port on your system ?

You may need to trace the intl100 driver with nettl or ethereal to observe the failure.
