Wake On Lan utility

Hi,

Is there any script or utility to send Magic Packet to do Wake On Lan (WOL) on hp-ux machine. I need to send Magic Packet from a hp-ux IA64 machine to other machine to wake up that when it in sleeping. I am finding many tools for windows. Following are such tools.

If you know the kind of tool for HP-UX, please let me know.

Not aware of any simple utility, but I bet you could find a perl script which would work on HP-UX and do this - a quick google of:

"wake on lan" magic packet perl

seemed to turn up plenty of examples

Maybe I don't understand what WOL is, but an Integrity server is suppose to be up 100% of the time, being busy.

I have to agree with Dennis. Though I DO understand what WOL is, there is no purpose for it on an HP-UX machine. It does not even save that much power.

I don't believe the original poster was wanting to wake an HP-UX machine, but wake another machine (perhaps Windows?) from an HP-UX machine.
