BUGCHECK - OVMS v7.1 1H2 with TCPIP v 5.1-15

My OVMS v7.1 1H2 standalone environment
(TCPIP v5.1 -15) keeps crashing everyday
at around 10:01 am with the following console displayed...

**** OpenVMS (TM) Alpha Operating System V7.1-1H2 - BUGCHECK ****

Bugcheck code = 000003C4: SSRVEXCEPT, Unexpected system service exception

Crash CPU: 00 Primary CPU: 00 Active CPUs: 00000001
Current Process = TCPIP$INETACP

Image Name = $1$DKC600:[SYS0.SYSCOMMON.][SYSEXE]TCPIP$INETACP.EXE;1..

I've no intention to upgrade my system.
Could someone advise is there's any fix
for this issue !

Re: BUGCHECK - OVMS v7.1 1H2 with TCPIP v 5.1-15

Felix,

when describing OpenVMS Alpha crashes, please provide the CLUE file as a text attachment. You'll find the CLUE file from each crash in CLUE$COLLECT:CLUE$node_ddmmyy_hhmm.LIS

You seem to be running TCPIP V5.1 without patches. Please confirm with: $ TCPIP SHOW VERSION

The most recent available patch for TCPIP V5.1 is ECO 5 - please consider to at least install that patch.

Re: BUGCHECK - OVMS v7.1 1H2 with TCPIP v 5.1-15

Felix,

this crash is typically a results of running a port scanning software (NESSUS) in the IP network. You could disabled the RSH and REXEC services to prevent this type of crash.

A solution for this problem should be in TCPIP V5.1 ECO 3 (or higher).

Re: BUGCHECK - OVMS v7.1 1H2 with TCPIP v 5.1-15

Felix,

from your Forum Profile:

I have assigned points to 0 of 14 responses to my questions.

Maybe you can find some time to do some assigning?

http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/helptips.do?#33

Mind, I do NOT say you necessarily need to give lots of points. It is fully up to _YOU_ to decide how many. If you consider an answer is not deserving any points, you can also assign 0 ( = zero ) points, and then that answer will no longer be counted as unassigned.
Consider, that every poster took at least the trouble of posting for you!

To easily find your streams with unassigned points, click your own name somewhere.
This will bring up your profile.
Near the bottom of that page, under the caption "My Question(s)" you will find "questions or topics with unassigned points " Clicking that will give all, and only, your questions that still have unassigned postings.
If you have closed some of those streams, you must "Reopen" them to "Submit points". (After which you can "Close" again)

Do not forget to explicitly activate "Submit points", or your effort gets lost again!!

Thanks on behalf of your Forum colleagues.

PS. - nothing personal in this. I try to post it to everyone with this kind of assignment ratio in this forum. If you have received a posting like this before - please do not take offence - none is intended!

PPS. - Zero points for this.

Proost.

Have one on me.
