Wrong description of DECC$SELECT_IGNORES_INVALID_FD feature in C RTL Manual
"
DECC$SELECT_IGNORES_INVALID_FD
With DECC$SELECT_IGNORES_INVALID_FD enabled, select fails with errno
set to EBADF when an invalid file descriptor is specified in one of the descriptor
sets.
With DECC$SELECT_IGNORES_INVALID_FD disabled, select ignores invalid
file descriptors.
"
In fact, the feature works the opposite way.
Somebody from HP monitoring this forum: please report it to the appropriate group at HP.

Re: Wrong description of DECC$SELECT_IGNORES_INVALID_FD feature in C RTL Manual
please feel free to send mail to
openvms.programs (at) hp.com
if you feel you've found a problem in OpenVMS documentation and you don't have a support contract with HP.

Re: Wrong description of DECC$SELECT_IGNORES_INVALID_FD feature in C RTL Manual
Thanks for reporting the problem. As you pointed out; the HP C Run-Time Library Reference Manual should be modified to correct the behavior of DECC$SELECT_IGNORES_INVALID_FD feature logical when it is enabled/disabled.
We track this problem internally; and should be fixed in next document release.
Thanks,
Murali C
OpenVMS CRTL Engineering.
