missing motif font files?

I'm working on project to convert ascii text files to Adobe PDF files. Not finding anything to do the conversion directly, I did find two freeware programs to convert text to postscript then from postscript to pdf. However the later fails because it can not find needed font files. Some quick google searching seems to imply that the files should be included with motif, but the directory SYS$COMMON:[SYSFONTS.XDPS.OUTLINE]is empty. Any ideas where to find this missing files?

Re: missing motif font files?

Knowing nothing, I'd assume that the MIA
status of everything under
SYS$COMMON:[SYSFONT.XDPS] would be related to
Display PostScript having been removed from
VMS somewhere around V7.3.

Re: missing motif font files?

Ahh, I'll look for my v7.2 cd's and see if I can find it in that saveset. Thanks!

Re: missing motif font files?

"starting with DECwindows Motif Version
1.2-6" would seem to be the key phrase. I'd
guess that a Motif 1.2-5 kit would be a good
place to look, rather than any particular VMS
version.

Re: missing motif font files?

The SANface folks have a product here, and Ghostscript can be an option.

Mac OS X includes a converter, and you can use the Adobe products on Windows or Mac.

Re: missing motif font files?

Thanks to all who answered, I found a solution in a shareware perl script (txt2pdf.pl) that did the trick.
