How do you stop EVM

I want to stop EVM because it keeps sending e-mails. I tried to kill all evm processes but they reappear. I tried '/sbin/init.d/evm stop' but they still reappear. How do you stop the evm processes?

Re: How do you stop EVM

EVM is an important service, and stopping it to cut down the emails is not a good idea. The reason it's being restarted is that esmd (the essential services monitor daemon) is monitoring the EVM daemon and restarting it when you kill it.

It's possible to edit /etc/evmlogger.conf to customize what happens in response to specific events. This mechanism should allow you to suppress the bothersome emails. See "man evmlogger.conf" for details on the file format. (You'll need to run evmreload after making any changes to this file.)

If you're not comfortable with making these kinds of changes on your own, you could also contact HP support for help.

Hope this helps,
