ESXi 4.1 - ovf howto
Hi there
How do I create an ovf file out of a VM that is sitting on my ESXi 4.1 home server ?
In the past i used the converter but then I was with the Workstation to ESXi conversion.
Now I need to transfer a VM from one ESXi 4.1 to another ESXi or to any other hypervisor.
I tried this:
$ovftool "vi://root@192.168.X.XXX?ds=[datastore1]test-vm/test-vm.vmx" /home/ovfs/test1.ovf
But it returns the following error:
Error: Datacenter object not found
I should probably mention my ESXi 4.1 is a standalone and not licenced server (No Vsphere).
It's just a home machine.
Reagrds
