HPE VMWare ESXi 6.5 Image
Hello,
Please can anyone tell me when the HPE ESXi 6.5 Custom Image will be available? If this is not soon, is there a list of the VIB's that can be manually loaded so that ESXi is aware of the Proliant Sensors and drivers?
Thanks,
Peter

Re: HPE VMWare ESXi 6.5 Image
I would like to know too.
Reading VMWARE's documentation, I think that upgrading a host, that has a HPE version of ESXi, would migrate the VIBs and integrate them.
So I guess, doing a new install could be done by first installing the 6.0 U2 HPE version and then installing the VMWARE 6.5 version over it (upgrade von CD etc).
A few seconds ago (after having written the above, before it was not there) HPE 6.5 custom ISO has appeared on VMWARE download page.

Re: HPE VMWare ESXi 6.5 Image
Please be aware that ESXi 6.5 hosts can be managed individually, using old vSphere Client or can be managed ONLY on vSphere vCenter Server build 6.5, according to VMware Product Interoperability Matrixes
http://www.vmware.com/resources/compatibility/sim/interop_matrix.php#interop&2=&1=2131

Re: HPE VMWare ESXi 6.5 Image
I've deployed ESX 6.5 custom HPE image (650.9.6.0.28 released on November 2016 and based on ESXi 6.5.0 Vmkernel Release Build 4564106) on a MicroServer Gen8. Consists of 10GB RAM, mirrored RAID, iSCSI storage target and running 2 VMs simultaneously - It's not in a vcenter cluster. Reports of the Purple screen haven't occured yet after an up time of 1 month straight...

Re: HPE VMWare ESXi 6.5 Image
Hi cipollamitch,
the reason why you are not experiencing a PSOD is that your platform is not affected by the buggy hpe-ilo driver 650.10.0.1-24 that is included in the only available hpe customized esxi image 6.5 build - 4564106:
This PSOD will only occur on latest Proliant G8 & G9 - DL & ML Series and is solved with hpe-ilo driver 650.10.0.2 or later...
Rgrds,
Manuel

Re: HPE VMWare ESXi 6.5 Image
hpe-smx-provider caused PSOD on my DL360 G7. Here is a handy guide
