5406 Firmware Upgrade issue, has This happen to you?
Firmware on Switch :- K.15.06.0006 Dated:- 09/02/11
Firmware upgrading to :- K.15.08.0013
Switch :- HP Switch E5406zl(J8697A)
Two Sites (one with VRRP enabled and other site is just Single switch doing work of core and routing).
We upgrade backup one of the VRRP Switch and when we reboot backup switch some reason both of them got hanged(solid Red Green light) and we had to physically reboot both the switches. We also manages to loose some of the vm(lucky we had most of the VMs power off as I wasn't sure VRRP will work).
We also noticed that when install new firmware on Secondary image and boot up switch on secondary image, no config files get applied. We see only factory default setups.
Question is
1) Should both VRRP router be hanged like that? When I logged on to one of the switch and run command reload?
2) Is it normal that secondary image not getting config files at all?
3) should we have done something differently?
Note:- We found out that newer version of firmware will required to have user name, if you didn't have one before it you will put manager as a admin username.
Thank you any suggestion will be appreciated.
