Connect c7000 enclosure with RDP

Dear all,

I am new in hp system. I have faced a problem to connect RDP(windows based) server with enclosure.
I connected the RDP server with enclosure through enclosure blade switch(CISCO 3020). But in RDP console the enclosure information don,t show. please help me

Your request is a bit too general. Can you explain more? What are you looking to see?


The "enclosure" will not show up in the RDP console. Servers in the emclosure should show up.

Which switch is the RDP server connected to? The 3020 in Interconnect bay 1? or the one in bay 2.

Dear Steven Clementi,

Thanks for your response. I followed the following steps.

1. Connect the enclosure to the network that contains your Deployment Server, and power up the enclosure.
2. Insert the server blades into the enclosure, but do not power on the server blades.
3. Change the default rack and enclosure names.
4. Power up the server blades.
5. Open the Deployment Server Console to view target servers available for deployment and management.


N.B
I directly connected the deployment server to the enclosure bay 1 switch port 24 through straight cable.

Does the RDP server work with other servers? (i.e. have you set up other servers using this RDP server?)

Tell me a little about the RDP server...

Did you install RDP, the stand alone version? or did you install the ICE package?

What is the server model?

Is DHCP running on the server?

I have install the following components in one windows base DL360 server:

1 Microsoft SQL Database (SQL Server or MSDE)
2 Altiris Deployment Server, which includes the following components:
3 Deployment Server
4 Deployment Server Console
5 Deployment Server Web Console
6 Client Access Point
7 PXE Server
8 ProLiant Integration Module

Actually I am confused about the network connection between the RDP server and Enclosure.

No need to be confused about the link between RDP and the blade enclosure, there isnt one!

Two things you maybe are getting mixed up about.
There is an enclosure view in SIM.
And in the top left pane of RDP you can add select the setting "show physical servers" which allows you to drop jobs onto the icon for a physical blade in an enclousre rather than the servername icon.
