207 memory initialization error on ml350 g6

Hi i am trying to put 2 new sticks of 8Gb 240pin DDR3 PC3-10600 1333Mhz ECC Registered into a Proliant MK350 G6.  When i install a module in Slots A and B it picks up the Ram in Slot A and shows the server has 8Gb of Ram but then throws an error saying 207 error Memory Initialization Error.

I only have one processor in this server and according to the side panel the memory should go in alphabetically ie Slot A & B.

Any ideas?  What am i doing wrong?

Thanks

Re: 207 memory initialization error on ml350 g6

Hi,

This could be faulty or incompatable DIMM / configuration issue.

Refer HP ProLiant ML350 Generation 6 (G6) QuickSpecs page 38 to 42.
http://www8.hp.com/h20195/v2/GetDocument.aspx?docname=c04286582

Refer the memory DDR3 memory population guidelines on Page 38

Swap the memory DIMMs and check if error follows the DIMMs

Also, let us know what is the part number of the DIMMs installed.

Also, refer the following HP ProLiant ML350 G6 Server - Spare Partspage and ensure that the DIMM part numbers are supported.

Thanks

I checked the guide you sent the link for.  On page 39 its says install in Slot A then B which i have done so i think the confiiguration is right.

Ok, you may try swapping the DIMMs to check if the error follows the DIMM. Error indicates that issues is with DIMM installed in Slot A.

You may also run Insight diagnostics to confirm the Faulty DIMM.
