431 Array controller overheat
I have several entries in the system log about my 431 overheating. There will be a dozen or so entries in a row (it will record the error a dozen times or so over an hours period) every few weeks. We have external pods using fiber arrays, and the internal drives coming off the 431. Are there any known issues with the 431 that might help to explain this?

Re: 431 Array controller overheat
it COULD be a bad 431 but verify a few things first..
1) are all your fans spinning
2) is your system in a cool environment
3) run diags and see if it comes up with anything thermal related..it could be a bad thermal sensor on the motherboard..
4) update the rom on the smart array 431 controller and see if this helps it might be a faulty monitoring issue in the rom.
if all above fails try replacing the 431 ..if problem persists replace motherboard for bad thermal sensor
