Adding disks to array - ML330 G6
Hi all,
New here. I have an ML330 G6 which came setup with hot swap drives x 4. I set them all up in RAID 5 and created 2 volumes (C:, E:).
We orginally ordered the server with 6 drives and the hot swap bay etc, but the supplier made a mistake and didn't have the required 750watt power supply in stock, so we just installed the server as is with the 460w P/s, 4 x 250gb hot swap disks and set them up in a RAID 5 array.
We have now got the 750w power supply and have installed it along with the 2nd hotswap drive bay (5-8), 2 x 250gb hot swap drives. The system boots fine and when I got into the RAID array config util, either in the bios or on the "Smart Start" disk that came with the server, I can see both new drives.
What I can't seem to do is be able to add them to the existing RAID array to expand the capacity.
Is this possible?
If so, how is it done?
Many thanks,
James
