Unfortunately, the DL360 G3 gives the error "602 - Diskette boot record error" whenever I try to start the system with the flash drive installed.
The BIOS is updated to the most current version.
There is no option to disable legacy USB support in BIOS.
USB is not listed in the boot device order selection menu.
I am aware that I can remove the flash drive to boot the system and then install the flash drive. However, this requires me to be onsite every time the system is booted - not an option.
Is there any way to make this work?
Thanks!

How old of a drive would you suggest using? We do need a decent amount of space on it.
Thanks for the reply

Is the floppy listed? Remove it and every other device from the boot list including CDROM. Leave only the OS hard disk.

SolutionI have just had the exact same problem with an HP DL360 G2.
Fix
Get into BIOS settings of DL360 G2
System Options, Diskette Boot Control, Disabled
Save on Exit
(Note that Standard Boot Order (IPL), and putting Floppy Drive (A:) to last (IPL:4) does not fix the problem.)
I don't know if that fix could be done on a G3 as opposed to my G2?

This did work for us on a DL360 G3 and has been a big help!
