Connecting DL360 G6 to HP StorageWorks 1/8 G2 LTO-5 Ultrium 3000 SAS Tape Autoloader
Hi
I have a DL360 G6 server with entry level built-in P410i Smart Array Controller. Channel A is in use controlling a 4 disk RAID array - Channel B is not in use.
I recently purchased a StorageWorks 1/8 G2 LTO-5 Ultrium 3000 SAS Tape Autoloader (BL536A).
On HP's compatability website (see http://www.hp.com/products1/storage/compatibility/tapebackup/ISS/Detail/16-0068-0189.html) it states that the DL360 G6 has "a suitable integrated controller available for connecting the HP StorageWorks Ultrium 3000 SAS". I assume this is the internal P410i controller.
However the Tape Autoloader shipped with a SFF-8088/SFF-8470 cable, which obviously doesn't fit the internal controller.
Does anybody know the recommended way to connect the Tape Autoloader to the DL360 G6. An additional P212 controller is recommended (462828-B21) on the same page listed above, but I don't want to spend more money purchasing this if a suitable connector is already present. If you can use channel B on the internal P410i, do HP do a specific cable or PCI slot adapter to convert the internal SFF-8087 connector to SFF-8088 so I can use the provided cable. I can't find reference to this on HP's website anywhere.
Thanks
Andrew
