Good morning,
I suspect this is a dumb question, but I cant seam to find the answer. I have a DL 360 running a P400i SAS Controller. I want to upgrade the SAS hard drives on the server with something larger, but I cant find an answer on whether the current SAS card will support the larger 6G HDD's. Unfortunatelly the HDD's are the 2.5 inch drives and I want to upgrade to something in the 500GB range. Will it work?
Thank you.

Solution
The 500GB 6G SFF MDL drives are supported in the server.

The P400 also supports 600GB SAS and most likely they will work in the server as well.

Re: DL 360 SAS controller
You can't replace a sas disk with a sata disk and keep the same volume. If you want to switch you have to reinstall.
If you stick with the same disk type you can replace the disks one at the time and then extend the volume and partition without reinstalling.

Re: DL 360 SAS controller
Im assuming then that the 500's mentioned above are SATA? It wont be a huge issue to rebuild the volume, that was my plan anyways. I will be restoring the data from a manual backup.
