DL 380 G3 blue screen

We have a DL380 G3 that has blue screened twice after apply Microsoft patches. Also we have teaming setup with the embedded NC7781 NIC adapters and when the server boots, the primary adapater will not be active, it only comes up on the 2nd adapter. I can successfully fail back over the primary.

Running W2K Adv. Server SP3 and HP Support Pack 6.30a.

Thinking of going to Support pack 6.4

There has been issues with blue screens on SP 6.30A that may also be related to what you are seeing. In the integrated log it will show the system has rebooted from a bug check 0x000044. If that is what you are seeing, try upgrading to 6.40A.

We have 3 DL 380 G3 w/dual 2.4Ghz CPU's, which are acting in somewhat the same way.
Two of them are running W2k Server SP4 and the last is running Red Hat Linux 7.3.

The two windows-machines both have one or more entries in the integrated log which looks like this:
- Blue Screen Trap (Bugcheck, STOP: 0x00000044)
- ASR Detected by system ROM.

The Linux machine just logs an "ASR Detected by system ROM"

We are running HP Support Pack 6.4 on the windows-machines and 6.2 on the Linux machine.
The Windows machines are also running the newest firmware revisions.

The log shows a STOP 0x00000076. Any ideas on what this is?

Ian, the bug check 0x00000044 was caused by one of the management agents, but was supposed to be fixed in SS 6.40. Are these happening on your 6.20 systems? Here are the patches that you need to apply:

As for the stop 0x0000076, I haven't seen this one before. Does it happen at the same time on a regular basis? Can you catch it in the blue screen to get more information? Is there anything in the system event logs?

Jeff: I can't find cp003558.exe nor cp003559.exe. The URL's you gave doesn't work. It isn't in my VCR either.

Perhaps it is just me that can't find my way around HP's site. After they took over compaq, it has become increasingly difficult to find what I'm looking for.

Just did some detective work on account that another DL380 G3 did the same.

Just be aware that there is a newer version than the link in that page.
The newest is: version 5.31.2195.0 (1 Jul 03)
which resolves even more issues with Blue Screens.

Thanks for the link Ian, good to know there is another update for this.

Joan, have you tried updating to version 6.40 yet? I would try that and see if it fixes your problem. You can even apply the patch that Ian has linked to above. Let us know how you make out.
