DL320 800GHz NT to 2003 upgrade

Any suggestions? I already ran the comatibility utility. It gave me NIC and System management errors. I upgraded to 2003 but received error on startup. I loaded the support pack 7.10. Rebooted, looks good, loading Network information, then gives system error (BSD). Should I not have loaded the support pack? Should I update the firmware? If so, in what order (bios, harddrive, nic, before upgrade, after upgrade)?

Hi Steve:

You will need to run the Primer Utility before upgrading to Windows 2003.

1- make sure Sp6a installed and server works fine
2- Proliant support paq 6.31 is highest one can go to with NT4.

Re: DL320 800GHz NT to 2003 upgrade

Just to make sure I understand:
(already have sp6a installed)
1. run support pack 6.31
2. reboot
3. run primer utility
4. reboot
5. insert 2003 server cd
6. start 2003 upgrade
7. check compatability
8. i should not get the comatability notices anymore
9. continue with upgrade

Is this correct?
When I get to the part of choosing file location of the 3 new files (i think syslog, etc.) any suggestions on where to place them?

Steve

Re: DL320 800GHz NT to 2003 upgrade

That is correct steve;

After windows installs correctly you can run PSP 7.10.

Place log anywhere.

you should not have problems with compatablity after this.

Best regards,

Tarek.
