DL320 G4 Memory Types

Hi,

I need to install a two new memory modules in a server DL320 G4, i read in quickspecs, the memories are PC2-4200 (533 Mhz).

I have PC2-3200 (400 Mhz), the DDR2 technology allows install a memories in this server with this frecuency?

The speed of the memory should match the bus-speed of the processor.

The maintenance and service guide mentions :

*Use only 512-MB, 1-GB, or 2-GB, 72-bit wide, 1.8-V, PC2-4200 Unbuffered ECC DDR2 DIMMs. Use HP DDR2 DIMMs only.

HP will not have tested the system with
other memory types then advised (PC-4200).
So the system technically could work at the lower speed, but may be less stable and won't be fully supported by HP.

Yesterday perform tests...this server not support this memory types. The system bus does not support lowering the frequency...
