DL360 Firmware update 8.20
Hello,
We have updated several servers with the latest firmware CD update 8.20. They are all identical hardware wise (DL360 G4p)
With this one server we get the error Device Failed on step two in the GUI.
The error in event viewer is:
Faulting application hpsum_srvdiscovery.exe, version 3.3.0.0, faulting module hpsum_srvdiscovery.exe, version 3.3.0.0, fault address 0x00038424.
I have done some searching on this forum and on the web with no success. I did see it metnioned a few places but no solution...
Any help greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Re: DL360 Firmware update 8.20
hi Paul
are you updating FW CD using online mode? I mean while OS is running or you are booting from it?
just in case remove any attached device to the server
bye

Re: DL360 Firmware update 8.20
Hi Karlo,
Yes we have been updating using online mode from the CD.
The only thing attached is the SAN. Is it worth removing this to see if the install will then work?
Thanks again.

Re: DL360 Firmware update 8.20
well you can try that - removing your SAN
also I was doing some research about this file
"hpsum_srvdiscovery.exe"
I thinking I need to talk with someone else to confirm this ...
"srv" stands for services
please try this
go to "C:\cpqsystem\log"
and get the cpqsetup.log and post it
I think that log can help us to get what the installation is failing
if there is not cpqsetup.log post any other there
thanks
