DL360 G5 without SmartStart CD, how to install Windows Server 2012?

Hi all,

I am new to there.

Just bought a 2nd DL360 G5.

On HP Driver and Support page I just see the Server 08 R2 is the latest driver/support than can find by this DL360 G5 model.

The SmartStart CD latest is 8.7B.

On this list haven't Windows Server 2012.

How to install Server 2012 on this server?

Thank you of your time and help.

Best Regards

Re: DL360 G5 without SmartStart CD, how to install Windows Server 2012?

Hi,

Windows 2012 is not a supported OS for this server model.

But you may 'try' to install Windows 2012 from the CD/DVD as a manual install without SmartStart CD.

Windows 2012 may work on this server if its able to recognise the devices with its Generic device drivrers.

Thank You!

Look like the G6/G7 series also haven't the SmartStart CD anymore after I am search web site.

They look like also much install manual.. Then using the SPP to install all the driver after the OS, right?
