DL360g5 failed to upgrade controller & disks conf

Hello all. I have 360g5 with 200i controller,4+2optinal bays for disks. Factory conf: 200i 4 disks (raid1 or 0). Decided to upgrade device by installing 600 contr and reconnect 4disk to 600 (1dR0+3dR5)and 2disks to 200i (2dR1). Purchased extra cable kit. THE TYPE OF CONNECTORS FOR INTERNAL & "OPTION" controller on the controller sides are DIFFERENT! I thought that I can simply reconnect the cable from 200i to a free jack on SAS backplane (2 opt bays). NO!! - the cable is short ( -2cm!!!). Tried to ask the solution in Moscow HP Headquarters. -THERE IS NO CABLE which (+2cm)can connect 200i to the spare,optional disks. WHY???!!!

I was talking about this one, but little longer. This one - 34 cm form side to side. I need 36cm (+2). (the more - the better) Maybe who khows some spare part from another vendor ?

the last you added has a spare part number o any number? or it is part of the kit B21?

The last one, with similar connectors, is factory install. It was used to connect 200i (internal) to the connector of 4 bays. But it is too short to connect 2 opt bays/

Hi Rogek,

I've just come across a similar problem - was sold a DL360 G5 with E200 onboard + P400 (I don't know why they didn't tell me to buy the mid-level option, as I don't need the E200). The P400 is installed by the reseller but they didn't bother telling me I needed a cable. Right, let's sell the customer a controller which he can't use and not bother telling him about the cable. Nice.

Anyway, from the HP Quickspecs doc for the DL360, there is a special cable listed for what you want - it is 35cm long. Here is the URL where I found this information and here is the pasted information itself:

I really have found it extremely hard to buy HP stuff - very confusing product range, almost non-existent explanation of what works and what doesn't work, and resellers willing to sell you parts you either don't need, or which don't work without some cable or option they should have told you about. NOT a good first time purchase experience.
